A not so productive week…with a few breakthroughs!

This week was frustrating. I had all these visions of finalizing some details and getting things moving, especially with the assessment. But things seemed stalled from the organizations’ side as well as mine. In regards to the organization, people I’ve been needing to talk to have been in meetings or not feeling well. In regards to how I have been holding the process back, I really need to put my vision in clearer terms. In my mind I know what I want, but I’ve always had difficulty breaking things down into details. But, talks with a few people from the Indicorps staff definitely helped me get started down the right path. Unfortunately, I spoke to them near the end of the week, rather than the beginning. One thing I’ve decided is that the first batch of teachers will only be English teachers. Starting with as homogenous a group as possible will help me stabilize things. I don’t think it would be practical to be running around adjusting curriculums for different groups right from the beginning.
Some good news is that I only have one more summer packet to hand out. The response has been quite good. One mother actually remembered that I was going to give the kids some work over the summer, which means people DO listen to me sometimes!
Finally, we bought the cycle rickshaw. Hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow. Girdharilalji has put some pressure on us, so we have a July 1st launch date. That’s one week from tomorrow! It has been a long time coming, but now it’s actually going to happen!
Next week has to be more fruitful. I had set a July 1st deadline to have the teacher assessment ready. Realistically, I don’t think that is going to happen. But I can’t afford it happen much later. .
