Current project

• Post SHG job description

No; Kanchan, the woman who translates for us was busy all week. I could have looked for someone else who could translate but I knew it would be difficult and time consuming and therefore didn’t bother. She’ll be free come Tuesday so I’ll give her the description then.

• Complete SHG documentation (bookkeeping)

No; I was going to but a lot of things have come up in terms of the group this week and I don’t know whether devoting my time to this activity is worth it if the group’s existence is hanging in the balance.

• Contact transport company for Rewari sale

Yes; After a bit of searching found a truck that would cost Rs. 2500.

• Market compost

Yes; Only to Palaram Ji, however. He will contact me when he’s ready to pick up.

• Plan meeting to discuss next steps for SHG

No; Doing this was contingent upon the women nearly selling the vc to the company in Rewari. Since that hasn’t happened yet, a conversation would be premature.

Future project:

• Put together implementation plan

Yes; But there are tons of holes and unknowns. I also don’t think I’m going to partner with EDI anymore so I’m back at square one in terms of finding curriculum (that’s okay though because I want to ensure quality rather than just accepting the first organization I talk to..

• Put together financial analysis

Yes; But it’s coming out really costly. I think I can cut salaries. I still am struggling with figuring out how to make the institute a no profit/no loss operation. As it stands, there is about 1 Lakh not paid for so I need to work through that.

• Conduct survey

No; I realized it didn’t make sense to conduct a survey if I was uncertain of the courses that were to be offered. I need to do more market research prior to this step otherwise I’ll get really vague answers.
