The pressure is on! I have set the start date for the class as October 1st! That’s a week from Monday. Before that, though, I have a lot to do…
My big goal for the week was to finish the first month’s curriculum, be somewhat happy with it, and send it to people to review. I am so close to getting there – will be there by tonight, actually! I knew it was a challenging goal, and of course I wish I had achieved it two days ago, but I did not. But what helped me get as far as I did? One thing was the fact that there were fewer visitors. Only one day this week was fully devoted to visitors. Another thing that helped me get as far as I did was the pressure from the October 1st start date.
Two things, I believe, kept me from fully achieving my goal. The first thing was that I very rarely find a significant chunk of time (more than two hours) during the day to work on the curriculum. My working style is such that I need to keep up the momentum to get anything done. I think I did a good job, though, a filling those short spans of time productively. Another thing was the heat. I was constantly tired this week. But I think I’ve discovered how to handle that issue.
Anytime, with October 1st fast approaching, I have a lot of things to do. One of the things I wanted to get done last week, but did not, was marketing. So Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are going to be focused on that. I am confident because I feel that what I am offering will greatly benefit Bagar’s community. I know that the pilot will be smaller than I would like, but that’s how things generally start. I just have to “wow,” the teachers who join the class…which I know sounds a lot easier than it actually is! .
